Why would the father care? Looking it from the perspective of their culture, sure in actuality the brother just wants to tick off his brother, but having a harem isn't that weird in some cultures. Even making people join the harem. Even if people knew the real reason they probably wouldn't feel surprised. Politics are ugly.
