I don't get what's so hard to understand here. Haedam was bullied for being gay, heard all kind of nasty stuff about it at his previous school, and Hoon didn't just say "I don't like guys", he got all defensive and said "i'm not like you", same type of reactions Haedam must've suffered from in the past.
