Translators often change character names as they think it would be more easy to read their names. I'm bad at remembering foreign names, but dislike the changes too.
I believe the setting is in China? And they're Chinese? So, why the heck would anyone think to give them Western names? That will literally change the whole vibe of it. It's a good think they chose translate it but why change their names? For what big reason could there be!
