He lost his humanity long ago so i see no reason to feel sympathy for someone who does not take in the consideration of someone they claim to "love". If you truly love someone and care for them do not compare them or use them to fuel your own selfish desires to hurt others when in reality you are no better than the ones who hurt you.

hating something that took your family away and being traumatized as a kid, aren't those completely human reactions? so i don't think he lost his humanity rather he's just being human, and unlike Saliphie, he hasn't met any good natured demons so with his negative opinion of what a demon is, kidnapping Sali, in his eyes, maybe rescuing.
but hating Ilya for his actions, is also your right cause we only humans
i was just curious about the other sides point of view (⌒▽⌒)

Im not hating him im just don't see the need to feel something for him when his actions are what speak for him as a person, or in this case a "human". I can understand that it was traumatizing to see that as a child but the way he acts towards Saliphie is cruel. Cruel being because he blatantly disregards what she has to say and concludes that she is under some illusion, that what she feels for the demons she has befriended is false.
I can understand what you are saying and feeling is either sympathy and or petty but i do not feel no such emotions but will look forward to the next chapter to see how Leon will handle the situation or Salphie i believe she will play a major part in the next chapter.

I'm just trying to put myself in Ilya's shoe, and with my christian belief and from what I've seen on tv, if someone I cherish, for example, my mom told me that "demons are good" and "I'm getting married to a demon" I would probably react the same way, even going as far as to get a priest cause she most be possessed and/or having a psychotic breakdown (lol, i'm just picturing my hella christian mom telling me those things, omg ), and then again, this is just "my belief" i didn't have any first hand experience with demons like Ilya did, so it most be more extreme for him. but don't get me wrong, even though i feel sympathy for Ilya, i'm still team leoXsali, and Ilya's probably going to get an ass whooping next chp, if Sali don't intervene, poor Ilya, he has zero luck when it comes to demons.
anyway this as been a great discuss, hope we can continue it next chapter.
I can't really hate Ilya anymore, i mean, watching your little sister get eaten alive, that would mess you up for life.
and to those people who are still raging (in full caps) about "Ilya should die "(after this chp.), doesn't his backstory phase you? not even a little?
