Yeah he was being protective. And also this isn't based on modern day life. The 'time frame' this is based on has those stupid standards of women needing to be modest. I would get it if it was based on modern day but it's not and it was a way for the authors to show how Cedric is growing emotions when before he didn't have any.

Can we please PLEASE go back to pointing out the positives instead of all the negatives,the story has flaws,every story does,but for the love of god please stop only talking about the negative things, I've hardly seen anything positive just negativity.
