so basically what i've heard/read that TJ's original work was supposed to focus on raichi todoroki but it was never approved because he was "dull/and with skills" (i think they wanted a character to start from 0 instead of being very strong batter) so he changed the whole manga focusing on sawamura and his team and it was a huge success because it was very realistic. he also planned on ending his work in the 1st act like on how sawamura never gave up no matter how difficult it is but this also was denied because this manga was one of the biggest sport manga in japan (and i heard that his wife also nagged him to continue) and because it wasn't the original plan nor the original story (and because of stress and how his fans never liked the way he treated his characters like injuring them at the very important moments or focusing on furuya instead of sawamura etc) TJ kinda hated the whole work and he wanted to ended it asap. and since the manga now reached the koushien point and the way things ended i don't believe there's gonna be an act 3 and also there won't be an anime adaptation
that's it and i'm sorry if i made mistakes english isn't my native language

Thank you very much you explained everything perfectly! As an artist, I think there's nothing worse than being forced to continue something for YEARS you don't fully stand behind :(( ofc I'm sad that the characters didn't get a proper ending but I can't imagine what author-san must have been going thru. He, as the only person who can bring this character to life, probably has to live with enormous guild now

yea it's kinda sad tbh let's not forget the stress and anxiety because of the one week time limit (he posted hiq work every week) and how he had to live up to everyone expectation but at the end he ended his work the way he always wanted
but again i really wanted to see them at koushien it was the whole main point.. i hope someday in the future he continue (even tho i don't think he will since he's done with daiya)
I'm very sad and disappointed that TJ ended one of the best sport mangas in japan like this.. i mean i underestand he might be stressed and tired since he've been working on daiya for over a decade and let's not forget that he hates this manga since it wasn't the original planned story but after all the struggles my boi sawamura went through to get that ace num and not to see him shine at koushien after his first failure is sad. so many unanswered questions and many matches that his fan wanted to see specially the hakuryu one. he could've wrapped it up and end it cuz literally the whole point is to see sawamura get the ace num and win after everything happened to him in act 1 and to see how his battery with okumura will work out and if he'll ever enjoy baseball again or no (since he have Chris's dead eyes) and many other things. i've read a lot of stuff some people say he's not finishing the story the other say he will after a break tbh idk all i know is it not fair to end it like that and i don't think there will be an anime to cover the rest of act 2 anytime soon. i hope that he can consider doing an act 3 after he gets better mentally and instead of weekly chap he can publish every month i truly believe that this manga should have a proper and satisfying ending
