I do miss Ian because the drama was getting so juicy, but Brian is a very interesting character too. It’s kind of sad to see the differences. Brian is what Ian would have been if he hadn’t been forced to grow up in a community where his existence was being loathed, hated and killed off. Even if the time in which Brian lives is dark, he is the happier, more adjusted, socially comfortable version that isn’t scared of other people. It makes me so sad for the now Ian, to see how that soul got beaten down. It’s also infuriating, because the golden brother made that country for Ian, to form Ian, and it crushed Ian.
Yeah and that's why the flashback is important, because it adds so many layers to the characters! (even if i complain about its length the things this era says, or rather shows, which is even better, adds so much more to the "initial" story!)
