im glad u asked me to explain because I can! basically, the definition of heteronormative is "denoting or relating to a world view that promotes heterosexuality as the normal or preferred sexual orientation" . the reason why the fact that most BLs have strict roles is heteronormative is because theyre acting like the bottom is now the woman and has to stay that way for the dynamic. theyre seeing the top as the man and bottom as the woman, and for heterosexual couples they cant switch (except for pegging but thats not a societal norm)
I don't get what's the big deal on them switching or not. For those of you that want them to switch, it's not up to you but what the characters are comfortable with and want to do. For those of you that don't want them to switch, same thing. Like, instead of this argument shouldn't we be thinking about and appreciating their love for each other? Even if they both aren't officially in love and together they still have love for each other as the other parent of their child. It really doesn't matter much whether they'll eventually switch or not (like what will it change for the story?) and either way none of y'all really have a say in the matter unless you're the author's advisor or something
