OKAY, I find his arc and his dynamics with Hikari so interesting so ig I'll write a whole ass essay. It seems like it's heavily implied that Asagiri will develop feelings for Hikari because even from the start his gazes seem to always gravitate to her. I think his arc is introduced nicely. His easygoing, chill ass attitude (that directly contrast Hikari) is just a defense mechanism that he developed in response to his mother's dismissiveness. I guess for him, his entire thought process would be "why even bother?"
I do think that while their dynamic currently have very thick tension, Hikari's bluntness and no-nonsense attitude outright call out Asagiri's which pushes him to reflect and improve.
I also want to add that the other three are pretty content with the way things are. Maybe that will change once Asagiri is thrown into the mix. I feel like unlike the others, he'll act on his unrequited love once he experiences it.
