its because they might be 45% or so complete with a chapter and jts not just translation since there's typesettig proof reading cleaning the sfx, a lot of work basically and that work is worth being able to post the output of their work without feeling like they did it for nothing because someone uploaded it before they did. we're reading illegal translations anyways its more of a favour done by the translators that they're posting these, they can be territorial about it.

bc a lot of the time the translators are the one actually SPENDING their money to buy the raws (not in this case, ofc), and they also spend a significant amount of time making the translation, cleaning, typesetting, proofreading etc. if you upload before them - a lot of the time with shittier translation - you ate wasting their time, money and effort. it's disrespectful as fuck. as such, it's basic courtesy for translators to not upload when someone is already working on it.

because mao and I are passionate about this project and we would like at least ONE aggregrator site to have accurate translations. so far we haven't seen any other english team for 19days doing translations that have a) good image quality, b) accurate translations and correct grammar/no typos and c) decent editing and consistent typesetting.
maomao is native and her english is very good, so the translation is one of the best you can get here for this series. and I have 20+ years of experience with scanlations, especially with editing/redrawing SFX and typesetting the bubbles. if you rather prefer scanlations in the manner of "zinchan" - by my guest. there's lots of scanlation teams who just wanna be quick and be the 'first ones' to throw things out there after an update - on facebook, insta, tumblr etc - and they dont care how it looks and how it sounds.
but yeah, our team likes to make an effort because we care about the source material, so there's actually a bit of work and effort going into this. if other people start uploading random translations they find on the aforementioned platforms, then the quality wouldn't be consistent on this website and lots of people use the translations here for making their meta-posts on social media or to reference the text for fanfics etc.
in my eyes it makes a difference if they say "I like you" or "I love you" - most people probably wouldn't care, but I think the latter is a much bigger deal when it comes to these characters here.
PS: translating 19 days is NOT illegal, if you search on moss and oldxian's weibo accounts, you can find a post from a few years back, where they say they are okay with people translating the comic into different languages as long as we don#t make money with it. (and we as translation team don't - if mango makes money by showing ads on the website to cover server-costs, then this is on them)

i’d have to assume that every translator likes consistency and some translators don’t like when other people upload over them because it kinda disregards the whole setup they have. especially if the translations are really poor. some people just take what they can find and upload it even if it’s dog shit translations/blurry. it’s also like… kinda disrespectful imo. cuz it totally, ignores the face that someone else is clearly giving us chapters and the fact that these people upload for us out of their own free will is incredibly nice. people just need to calm down and wait a few days it’s not a big deal yk. so i could see how it would be irritating. those are just my thoughts though :)
No hate, but I've NEVER understood why translators become "territorial" over uploading. Do they make some form of money from this. I'm genuinely curious.
