That's a lot of mental gymnastics just to admit that something can be morally wrong/dubious even if you enjoy reading it ┐(´ー`)┌ but you do you. I'm fine admitting it. It's incredible uncomfortable that literally everyone in the story points to Hyo-Un having the mental age of a child, regardless of his body or dragon status. I wish it was never part of the story and I'll never read it as happily as I did before, even though I still like it.

no im not saying i enjoy it nor am i saying it makes me comfortable. i wouldnt even dream of thinking child hyo-un and taehyuk, an adult, could be together romantically. im just saying children think the way hyo-un does all the time but that doesnt automatically make it okay. he has the mentality of a child so he doesnt know any better. and taehyuk is right for not reciprocating those feelings towards a child

Thats the thinggg, I wish there are no sexual thing happen between them in the past version. But some people post a spoiler that that is really not the case. Maybe we should just wait for the next chapter and see what happen. I was really happy to see a fantasy/supernatural manga with quite a healthy relationship (okay they have a bit of non cons early on) and i was hoping later on the male lead will learn healthy boundaries...but my bad for hoping too much
A kid liking an adult can be comedic if done right, like Becky liking Lloyd in SpyxFamily..and Lloyd are just uncomfortable or thinking about spy stuff the whole time. But this is a BL world after all, gotta give the horny all the cakes hahaha

It’s the truth though? A lot of kids develop some sort of crush for adults, not always but sometimes. You can also clearly see that Taehyuk is super awkward and uncomfortable with this whole “growth spurt”, meaning he has no feeling for Hyo-(idk how to spell his name) in that manner. But of course, with time Taehyuk will slowly become comfortable with him and maybe reciprocate those feeligs. (Even in the raws, after doing something with Hyo Un, he felt really iffy and avoided him a bit, which is a valid response)— This is kinda spoiling so don’t read if u don’t want to.

I'm not saying this isn't the case, I'm just shocked at how people are trying to deny it's "problematic" elements with justifications like "he is a dragon so it's not predatory".
Taehyuk is awkward because he hasn't had time to process Hyo-un's increasingly bold advances or his growth spurt, both of which are understandably quite the development, yet it is not entirely unrequited on Taehyuk's part. I do not have any issues with these kinds of tropes or depictions on fictional media, in fact I love Hyo-un and past Taehyuk's relationship ("problematic" aspects and all), just that people are so quick to justify and play blind. Of course everyone is free to like or dislike these developments, it just seems like OP has gone through a lot of imagined scenarios to sorta be okay with this story. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Oh of course, I agree as well. Even if Hyo-un is a dragon, he had (probably still does in a way) a very immature and naive mindset, like one of a child. And I totally understand Taehyuk since he still raised him, no matter if he was a dragon or not. Overall, this trope is quite problematic so I like the fact that the author kind of gives taehyuk a pretty realistic reaction to Hyo-un's quick growth and feelings. Just like you, I really like Taehyuk and Hyo-un's relationship, past and present, but people have to understand that the trope itself is very complicated (controversial) and not something that should be justified. People can still love and enjoy the relationship, but they shouldn't be careless and love it blindly. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

You can read the raws here: https://newtoki315.com/webtoon/28207725?toon=BL/GL
and the machine translations (shitty but pretty understandable) here: https://zinchanmanga.com/manga/dawn-clouds-river/
On another note (spoilers): Although I think they did ykw, Taehyuk was by now, sort of taking into consideration to Hyo-un's feelings, so I wouldn't say it's really "bad". But if you simply can't handle this trope and stuff, don't force yourself, this story and this weird trope is not always for everyone :)

That's exactly it! I'm so used to people just throwing really serious accusations and no one really getting how complicated their relationship is.
I think the contrasting mix of "problematic" circumstances vs fate that transcends all odds is precisely the allure of these two and I'm all here for it(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Nah, I get it. I for real thought your original comment was one of the same ones I've been reading ever since this webtoon entered its flashback arc. The amount of times I've seen people justify everything in a dehumanizing manner, as if him being a dragon suddenly negates the fact that this is quite literally a kid, lmao. I really have no issue with these tropes being included, it's just that these people seem like hypocrites #-.-)
tbh i dont see much wrong with this manwha. children fall for adults all the time. its the adult who should know better. and in here, tho hyo-un loves taehyuk, taehyuk doesnt see him as more than a kid who talks nonsense and doesnt anyone besides him. so naturally hyo-un will be drawn to him. and the whole moral of dragons and their age are different from us but when he takes the form of a human child, hes just that, a child. i think we’re not even sure about hyo-uns real age as a dragon as all we’re told is he leaves the river for the first time and takes the for of a child as a child was the first living creature he saw. but oh well, as nothing happened between hyo-un and taehyuk as hyo-un was in the form of a child, it should be okay??
tl;dr: hyo-un took the form of a child bc it was the first living creature he saw upon leaving the river. child hyo-un loves taehyuk as he was the first human who was kind to him. taehyuk doesnt love hyo-un that way and only takes care of him.
