He really does since he’s in a friends with benefits relationship with him, it’s an important thing to discuss if he found a partner special enough to bond with, and overall it looks extremely suspicious when the Beta seems completely unaware of it. It may look like he got taken advantage of to him because of how out of the blue it is.
