Uhm, Basen is Cale's half brother. He is Count Deruth's son with Countess Violan. That's the reason why he looks like the count. They are blood related.
In the novel is state that, their not blood related since basen is the son of Countess Violan with her late husband (=・ω・=)

no worries! it does feel more believable that Basen is blood-related by how similiar he acts with Deruth and Cale eheheh i often double checked when i just started reading the first book too
i knew that Basen was mentioned quite a lot in the novel to be similiar with Deruth and Cale (despite being a step son/brother with no actual blood relation), but wow seeing him in the manhwa he does look very much like Deruth bc of the brown hair and eyes, with Cale's personality too- both Cales (the OG one and RokSoo) even! he's perfectly a Henituse, fits just right in where he belongs i love it
