You may be right about the love speed being fast given the maid being his rapist warden originally. I think the ML is highly observant, initially when FL created a contract he still kept his suspicions. If she was still how she was in the past she wouldn’t pass up a chance to touch and kiss him or give him power over the scepter that kept him bound without magic. I think the homemade meals were important because the OG maid was the only one who could freely roam and would starve him to keep him more submissive or dependent on her…she didn’t care about what he thought/felt. It’s realistic to think that she still had ulterior motives or that is take longer to regain trust or flat out not forgive FL for her past actions. But I guess he’s clinging to this new change and believes it’s genuine and that something in her past led her to the past of a dark wizard.
I can explain why ML fall in love with FL really fast but that will be heavy in spoiler territory.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this is how I remember the story.
So basically one of the factor why ML like MC so much is because of a sense of familiarity to his first crush (who happen to be MC but in her OG body). So technically, he been in love in MC since he was a child, he didn’t know those 2 is the same soul.
Basically, when a dragon cub reach 500 year old and they have to past a major test to be adult, if not the dragon will die. That why dragon make a contract and bond with wizard so they can share the test and help the dragon live. MC bond with dragon and when it get 500 year old, it test sent MC and dragon back in time to when ML was a kid and that where MC meet ML. MC was in her original body when she travel back in time. And that also why ML hate dragon cause it took MC alway from him when he was little.

Idk if I’ve just gotten worse at detecting the moments when MLs fall in love but I fr fr thought he was just tricking her again for the longest time to make her “show her true colors” but he literally fell for her after a couple of meals and her playing hard to get even after she was acting rapey before hand. his feelings for her went from -10, +15, +100 in the span of like 5 chapters without clear explanation what he fell for in her, I HATE when authors do that cause I’m all about the romance. But if I missed some cues or hints that explains it feel free to point it out for me
