You know it's nothing new old mangas used to be toxic as well people used to enjoyed them too myself enjoy them but , since Korea got ahead into BL they got opportunity to make worst out of toxic part and people love to pay for that, we are not one to blame those who pay for such stories want that and authors know that they wanan earn and that's why it works there are plenty good healthy romance story as well but toxic has big fan base in yaoi cuz most of them are straight single women/girl who loves to see how miserable a relationship can be... You know what I mean

I agree in a degree, I think toxic semes was already here but just not that many. Personally, I think it's just bc of authors preferences? I like some tragic and toxic shit and cry for the uke but ngl there are some toxic bls that are rotten to the core. Even I gag a bit reading those
Also the art quality is improving just a little bit in my opinion. well some aren't that good(but people still like it?)... Maybe the BLS you see a lot are the straight up pornos and just fap material which is why the body anatomy isn't the greatest. I know some new BLS that have good art style. It's probably bc the bls that have more sex are more popular(from what I see a lot) and often shadows the actually good bls. But idk I haven't been online in the world of bl that much ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

This recent wave of OVERLY toxic crazy and abusive semes is ruining the genre, BL authors are committing self sabotage. People don’t wanna see the same toxic plot and character interactions happen over and over again. Also is it just me or is the art quality of these manwhas going down as well? I keep seeing licensed work with awful anatomy and expressions, I feel like randos with a drawing tablet are just sketching out their fantasies and posting it for the whole world to see, ugh this was a rant sorry.
