We can argue all day about it being being r@pe or not but if you take only his pov it's definitely not. He was interested in someone, proposed a deal, let him go when he said no, didn't do anything to change his decision. Also keep in mind y'all that doc lied to him and told him he was experienced so he think he is sleeping with someone that actually know what he's doing.
Then he paid off his debt and took him in at his house. He also paid the grandma's hospital bill and in exchange doc do it whenever Jaekyung wants. From his pov it's a pretty straight forward relationship and is nothing more than a transaction between consenting adults.
He doesn't have the EQ to understand how he could be forcing doc's hand.
And doc's life was so messed up that this AH partner seems dazzling in comparison. Doc mostly need self discovery at this point.
I rlly dont want to have a full blown discussion on this but Dan did say no multiple times when they were having sex yet Jeakyung didn't stop. I agree with you that Dans life was so messed up before that he sees Jeakyung as dazzling but the story makes it seem like true love instead of a consequence of how he lived before to how hes being treated now. In general, the story is a generic toxic BL manhwa with a really good art style so its kind of disappointing
I disagree that the story makes it seems like true love, especially since the characters go out of their ways to point out to Jaekyung that he is wrong about how he treat Dan. It's messed up but it's not romanticized, any other generic toxic BL would have made Jaekyung obsessed over Dan, controlling and justify everything by "but it's love" while here he is only possessive, and isn't there yet at all when it comes to love.
I see where your coming from but it does seem like it'll be like that in the future when Jaekyung ends up finding his feelings, then the story might take that approach. Kind of like BJ Alex, we saw the flaws in Alex but then when he started liking DG, the story took the "he did it because he liked him" approach. Although I know Jeakyung is far worse than Alex, its the same creator so they might take that same outcome.
