I think in defense of Chapter 3 that story was more about the girl gaining new experiences, finding out more about herself and having the freedom to make her own mistakes than it was about the romance. Not everyone's first time is with their true love and not everyone's stories are all roses and peaches. You have to be infatuated and find a few duds and stumble a bit before you can get anywhere. She was repressed and lonely and curious and this older guy was fascinating and different from what she was used to and she was looking for different. She got stung a little but she also grew a little. I think that was what she needed to find what she really wanted.
I personally really liked it, its nice when manga isn't always this unrealistic 'perfect' sugar coated disney-style crap that media tries to tell us love is like. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
