Unrelated.

I was reading other stories where the couple's relationship get strained (or end) due to socio-politics, and then I suddenly remembered this series for a hot minute...

Yeah, there are moments when it's hot trash, but it's one of the few series where the person in power goes out of his way to convince his other that he's willing to give up all his status and power just to be with them. And I dunno, I just thought it was moving.
