Remember his final objective is playing the last round of the game, if he was alone they were all probably dead. He needs a team, and the president is one of the top candidate, so far his actions seem pretty reasonable to me
If anything there is one thing Im disappointed about, the president said he had no reason to tell him about this prophet bullshit since he's already crazy rich, but he could have made one up. Even if he's rich, he still risks his life every month, If I didn't know any better, I would say maybe he's hoping for the presiden't protection and collaboration during the game, after all he is placed second. But if he said he wanted protection and he gave him the “protection” he would have to reveal his identity as a player to him ( i mean his username; i don't remember what he called himself) so i think it is reasonable what he did, even though it seemed like he was desperate
