I agree with all your points lol
I love survival horror games, so usually if the game developers involve something about the occult, it's because they want to justify the entity being there. For example, Friday the 13th.
So I was thinking maybe the author wants to do the same.
The murderer only exists because someone summoned him through a ritual and that's why he revives everything someone kills him. The only way to really kill him is to do the same ritual and banish him to hell, like Horror Story: Hallowseed.

Bada's dialogue about the killer having a backstory to explain why he kills and the basement littered with occult stuff may be connected. Not just to provide information about the killer but also how the whole game even started. I was wondering all throughout the story how they got stuck inside the "game" and I thought it couldn't be just because they played the console, right? So the occult being mentioned got my attention, since it deals with demons and otherworldly things, that could be how they ended up in this situation. The game might be cursed or something due to being connected to the occult and they were the victims who unknowingly got into something they shouldn't have.
Anyways, these are all just theories, we'll all know the truth once we get more updates, I'm so excited (≧∀≦)
On a hornier note though ahem, the sexual tension between Bada and Doha is reaching unbearable levels like ohmygod just do it already I'm suffering here lmaooooooo
