These are pretty minor since it’s all from the beginning but SPOILERS:
The king killed everyone, including MC’s family to take over the throne and then kept the MC there. He was clearly obsessed even tho they never slept together he never let the MC see anyone else. Even gave MC a bride for finality’s sake, but MC never saw her again after the ceremony.
MC ran away not knowing that everyone that helped him were killed by the King when he found out.
