I can understand Abigail being dense like she was treated so bad in her past life since her looks weren’t the standard and so she carried that behavior in her new life
so it’ll take her a while to really appreciate a compliment since she was shamed all her life for not being pretty so imagine someone saying you’re pretty and you don’t know if it’s genuine or not

let the author cook. Some of us don't get social queues up close. It's WAY more obvious watching other people interact. I honestly can't think of any other organic way they could've introduced snow white's animal power. And honestly i'm glad they introduced Ariel. There's nothing more annoying than world-building but the species introduced in the beginning never make an appearance or have any effect on said world. I'm not reading the novel but I feel like other than finally getting those two socially awkward kids together, there's an underlying quest of getting a bit more involved with magic and magical beings so we can eventually figure out how to get the baby boy out of the mirror and set the 2 babies up to live happily ever after, with a sibling or romantic dynamic. Ooh did i ramble or what?
hear me out, but what is the direction the story is going in rn?? everything kinda seems randomly developed even if it sort of makes sense.
also, cmmmonnn abigail - i know you didn't really have a love life in your past but how tf are you so freaking dense??
