am not digging the chapter but ppl be reading historic stories and applying today's morals lol

kwon has every right to punish a poor prostitute peasant to death for lying to him and basically conspiring against him, but he isn't even doing that, just showing yeonjo that his careless actions have consequences, which is really tame for the times

(and i highly doubt yeonjo would be as lenient if he would've stayed a yangban, our prideful judgy boi basically threw dam yi to the crocodiles here already ( ̄∇ ̄"))

You're absolutely right. Yeonjo still hasn't learned the weight of importance placed on your shoulders when you make someone lie to a dangerous man like the governor. He's behaved selfishly and carelessly with someone else's life. This whole scene was eye opening for him in many ways. He'll think twice about using someone else for cover now. (I sound ruthless but it's the truth... And I've seen the raws lol)

    YES THANK YOU.
and its not just a matter of how good he is, he is a governor, he holds a certain reputation, respect. if the servant of his servant does him wrong its almost like he has to punish them or ag least discipline, because if he didn't then he wouldn't be feared and basically enable others to do the same.
