That poor child is caught between his parents. Wanting to be everything his mother expects him to be and wanting nothing more than his father's attention and approval. All the while, both are toxic individuals with only their pride on their minds. I feel so badly for him. He has no options, no power, and he's going to make mistakes that are irreversible and will never get him what he wants. If anything, Ray would be the best mentor for him, but he can't even have that because Jiskar is too much of an obsessed prick to allow any type of freedom or kindness to his child and Ray.... I really hope that Shirak gets a happy ending of any sort but I don't feel like this comic is going that route for anyone. Death seems to be looming overhead for everyone involved.
