There are only 3 chapters out. Yes, there is no love yet but isn’t that the point? The author is trying to create mystery through ambiguity of Kana’s actions. It’s clear to me that Kana has a soft spot for Naho (him chuckling when seeing Naho’s bedhead. He does think Naho is cute). The whole point the author is trying to make is that from Naho’s perspective everything he knows is crumbling down, including his relationship with his best friend, and I’m enjoying the angst. The fact that everyone is screaming for raws and novel spoilers is proof that the mystery and angst is working.
Yes, Kana not defending Naho is horrible, but let us see why he did that (or did he actually defend Naho without Naho knowing?) and I’m all for character development. Let’s say Kana is a people pleaser, then I would love it if by the end of series he grows a pair of balls and stand up for Naho.
