It's not explored that often but in typically guideverse mechanics no it doesn't matter. Guides stabilize Espers through physical contact, it's handwaved a lot how it actually works besides "fixing their energy" and sex is just the most effective/strongest method. You're totally right though that guideverse just gives reasons for the sleeping around lol
