Past love being sth that is like a trauma to the MC and having difficulty moving on frm that, this troupe is nothing new but i love how it was done in Given.
It was such a traumatic experience for Sato. I've seen people complain that 1-2 chapters of Yuki is more than enough and anything else is excessive but i kinda disagree. Often, stories just brush off the past too quickly thus taking away the a lot weight frm it.
But here we see how much Yuki has influenced Sato and it kept recurring all throughout, ranging frm tiny details to major stuff. Petting a stray cat, watching children fly their planes, walking to the ocean alone and saying "i'm not lonely". It was done so well.
Then finally we culminated with Sato's song. A story that took place in winter for Yuki to a story that took place in summer for Uneyoma. Yuki asked Sato to have sex when they get back and now Sato asks the same to Uneyoma.
It seems like a perfectly good ending. Yuki will always be there with him but at the same time, their memories will naturally fade away with time. Dunno why ppl are saying " Sato doesnt deserve unoyoma". Sato did decide to move on eventually. Sure they had a rocking strt after they strted dating but u have to remember it hasnt been that long after Yuki. Stuff takes time to heal
Sato wanted to be included in Yuki's music as said by his friend. Uneyoma has achieved what Yuki cudnt
