Yepp, I agree with this. They are trying to understand each other, but (especially) Lyle's communication skills have never been good, so maybe Ash is walking on eggshells, trying to understand Lyle and help him find himself in this relationship. And you can see that Ash knows that Lyle has his reasons to move, but doesn't want to tell Ash, and he does not want to force it either.
Especially because this is the first relationship for Lyle, while Ash have been through more. And I think Ash is also a bit insecure, that is why he doesn't want to openly ask Lyle why he wants to move.
But they will be over it soon, I know.
