I only could think that with the rape, he at least helped granma, didn't hit Dan (if I remember right), "cared" where he lives, and Dan still got money enough(?)... but I think it wouldn't be enough still :/ and it could be delulu from my side too
It's a bit delulu (but that's fine...we're all delulu at some point lol ) cause he definitely disrespected Dan for living in that condition (even though it's not his fault nor anyone's fault for being poor)
