Yes, it is fine the way it is. Others may be complaining because they're unfamiliar with this form of storytelling. It's not an easy thing to do so many authors tend to shy away from this method. The story is not at all difficult to understand.
This. How can people find this confusing? It's not as If the author Just Changes Timeline every other Panel. It's just the chapters, and you can clearly read at what Point they are.
