The english translation actually has errors tho, in the novel Ash’s talking to himself when he found out that Lyle wanted to move out, he misunderstood that maybe his words/ actions had caused Karlyle’s discomfort living with him so when Karlyle expressed his interest in finding new houses, Ash respected him. There’s actually another reason but if I say it here, it’d be a spoiler

I'm not sure it's a translation error, maybe just a deviation from the novel, it'd be weird to be this off from the original text when everything else is translated accurately. But also I don't personally think saying he agrees with his decision all the while doing his best to make him stay is respecting him.
Ok so he's having a rut issue right now which is probably messing with his brain so okay, fair, but he was clear headed during the other visits, and he seemed to know Lyle sudden interest in finding a house wasn't his own, so why is he beating around the bush ? Lyle is a cutie potato but he can't pick up on any social cue to save his life, and Ash knows it, so why not being honest and straightforward like he always is so Lyle can understand that and reassure him.
