Aside from the love he felt form a**h**le the only thing the holding back Dan is his Grandma(sorry for this) but if it would happen that her grandma will die I think that would be the turning point of the story and I hope that this will happen when a**hole taste his first defeat.
Im imaging a scenario wherein his having hard time with his fight then Dan will receive a call that his grandma health status is critical then Dan needs to leave the arena to be with his grandma and then her grandma will die and at the same time receive a news that a**h***e got defeated (serve him right).
I really hope that Dan will leave him or the actor will help him to get away from that a**h**e
