also we hardly see any mother daughter bonding moments there’s only been a few scenes like the parasol or when she asked her ti change her guard, she might be doing things for lily in the next background but if she isn’t present for her then how will their bond actually grow, if one moment she’s hugging her crying telling her she loves her then the other accidentally lashing out and trying to make her change her guard. to a child this just looks like a bipolar mother
i feel for lily so much imagine being abused and constantly having to take care and pick up after your parent like that, when you see them being capable on their own you feel unneeded especially because lily was also thrown aside in the past left to fend for her own and raised herself she was a child taking care of an adult, seeing her mum step up as an empress also proved that she always had it in her, she was always capable if she actually put her mind to it but she didn’t put any effort in when it came to lily. In this life yes she’s changing herself but she has too much pretty privilege everyone forgives her too easily she’s still not perfect, she said that in this life she would devote everything to lily but maybe all lily needed was a loving mother not an empress.
