
It's quite realistic actually, when I was a kid I didn't greet people or keep eye contact, and the number of grown-up adults who RESENTED me to my core for just that was quite surprising. There's something that breaks in a human's brain when you don't smile and say hello to them every time, even though it's basically a useless waste of time, and I find it quite frightening

This is sadly realistic as I've been branded as selfish, gloomy, unlikeable, and distasteful by my OWN FAMILY when I was little just because I didn't understand why I had to smile and giggle at all the adults in my life. They told me to my face that I was a terrible child in comparison to my cousin who understood from a young age that she had to smile, to this day she can do no wrong in the eyes of the extended family who thought she was an angelic kid.
