Theres not a clear explanation as to WHY but it seems like he only likes him because he was nice and could understand him, (he was like his only first friend too), also theres no way jay isn’t gay for him so probably also cus he’s hot
Dawgg Jay literally treats Daniel as his boyfriend, he almost died for him literally MULTIPLE TIMES not only once. He buys him nice things, he wants Daniel to think highly of him and he cherishes anything that he gives to him, he gets jealous when girls are hitting on Daniel..he pushed his OWN SISTER away once because she wanted to get close to Daniel..I could go on and on
It is for the reasons I listed above lol. Daniel's firsr impression left a big impact on Jay. Plus like someone else says, Daniel understands Jay even without talking and that probably gives a big reason to why Daniel is special to Jay. The boy also just has a really big heart behind the silent demeanor.
