Yeah, Thank you for saying something like this but for me, I got Hated and Harassed by a lot of people on Tiktok every time I comment that I liked GoYuu, I told them they're Not Real but they just won't Accept it and kept Harassing as I got Harassed so much that they say a lot of Shocking and Uncomfortable Bad Things to me to even went as far as Ganging up their friends and bullied me to the point that they made a video by Uploading my Profile Picture and telling people that I'm a Horrible Person and a lot of them made me Miserable for days as they Hurted me just because I shipped some Fake Character that's not even Real as I can only like them quietly here
I was on twitter and I was reading up on this topic. Apparently gen z-ers are actually moving backwards in their opinions on sexuality and media. There are a bunch of articles on the Puritanism of gen z and how they can’t separate media from reality. I think that’s why we see so many more commenters attacking fans in fandom for reading or even liking artwork and media because they see it as “gross”.
I think these people genuinely think that they are helping the world, when in reality they are policing expression and sexuality just like 100 years ago.
Also this generation of internet users have a very difficult time understanding that consumption does not equal literal endorsement. They don’t really understand how to differentiate what’s ACTUALLY hurting people, and what is just media for consumption.
The media utopia that they envision is actually a dictatorship of suppression.
Not all media is perfect but you literally have to open your minds and realize that it isn’t created to dictate your life. It is for consumption and that’s it.
If you read something “problematic” and let it dictate real life actions that hurt people, then that’s a whole different issue and has nothing to do with consuming media especially PORN.
Lastly, these people who think they’re helping or doing a good thing by shaming people and attacking fans are doing more damage than they think they’re fixing lol.
We might have to wait for the next generation of fans to realize how horrible the situation is right now. It’s sad.
Also goyuu is such a sweet couple. Their dynamic is unique and heartwarming. They’re both passionate and loving people who support each other. And these doujinshis are so sweet, and beautifully drawn. It’s too bad people can’t just let art be made and consumed by those who appreciate it.
