It's ABO, but there's no grape in it, a major plus.
The romance is slow. Mainly because top comes from a non ABO world and is hetero, so he doesn't see male omegas as members of another gender, just another guys for him.
Thanks to that, even if he is affected by pheromones he doesn't really lose control. And he approaches bottom as a friend at first. He cares about him and doesn't want him to suffer all that happens in the ogNovel. And while helping him he ends up falling for him..
Bottom have a good number of psychological problems. Anorexia, depression, trauma and double personality.... besides being distrustful of people because from time to time he can read people's mind, and it's usually them lusting after him. He hides the second personality but does treatment for years. But it ends badly because he reads the doctor's mind and is full of perverted thoughts about him. But he slowly deals with the problems and manages to overcome them.
About the 5 ogTops:
1st is the redhead. He is the best of them. He falls in love miserably with topMc and is repeatedly dumped but ends as kinda friends with him and even saves bottomMc even when he sees him as love rival. Their bickering is funny. He is ogNovel's endgame and the one with better ending in the novel. His father is a Beta that doesn't really mind genders and a very powerful man who's very popular in og novel. I'll mention him again later.
2nd is bottomMc paraplegic sick neighbor friend. Dude is a rich guy, famous painter and an absolute peeping tom. A pervert who have made many erotic nude paintings of bottomMc and other rich, powerful and popular Omegas. His family ends ruined and abandon him because of what he did, TopMc blinds him with a dart when he finds all the cameras in Bmc house and he trying to peep through a hole in the wall. He ends up dying in jail.
3rd is Tmc stepbrother, the bad one. He goes to jail for most of the novel. Tried to kill his older (half) brother, tries to kill his father, tries to collude with his mother's family to take over his family and tries to kill their bedridden grandfather. That one was the last straw and he's given up by everyone, including mother's side because he did try to harm them too.
4th is a psycho. He is the youngest of the 5 and the one who put hands on Bmc before. He kidnapped and did bad things to him. He didn't get to grape him and he managed to ran away and was saved by 1st top's father. Psycho was sent away from country cuz his family is powerful there. He comes back as obsessed as before but Bmc is very alert against him and gives the drug he was trying to give him back. That drug was an unfinished product and makes him lose his memory. He does recover a deleted pic of Bmc tied up from his computer and tries something a last time using the taxi killer. He fails and get implicated in it. Don't remember if he ends up dead or in jail.
5th and last one. The stalker that likes roses. Gets recognized by Tmc because of a rose embroidery in his coat. He is cousins with 3rd and 1st. He is second hand of redhead's father and should've kept an eye on Bmc but falls for him and gets pissed by his rejection. He's the one cleaning the other tops messes and the one who gives the drug to psycho. He almost implicated 1st's father and he gaves up in him. He ends up kidnapping Bmc and tries to die together but Bmc manages to escape.
Top mc's family:
The older brother is just... chef's kiss. He was badly hurt by 3rds actions and was genuinely happy to have a new brother. OgTopmc also hurted him because of 3rds manipulation. He knew from start he wasn't exactly OgTopmc but accepted him as his brother anyway. There's a point in novel where Tmc body gets taken over by a copy while his soul gets locked up and he and mc noticed in a glance and didn't accept the copy.
The father... is a manwhore... a serial cheater that's on his 3rd wife. He's irresponsible and terrible at business which forced gramps to raise older bro strictly and with no childhood cuz someone needed to hold the business up and the father couldn't do it. Father feels guilty about it but loves all 3 kids a lot, at least till 3rdTop did all that sheet. Topmc is the one that alerted him about drinking and eating anything his affairs give him because that's how he originally died. So when it happened his words came to mind and he managed to puke it out and call for help before it could do much harm. He is very grateful to him and takes him as a family member more important than blood. He accepts Bmc too and when he mets him he jokes with him that now he understands why Tmc rejects all omegas he tries to find him. Saying badly he is a neglectful manwhore, nicely he is a romancist who's bad at expressing fatherly love.
The second brother... is the trash 3rdTop. He is a pos. He harmed Older bro repeatedly while growing up (he's even careful with food cuz this trash used to put laxative in his food). And is the one that drove OgTopmc away by saying the vila ge got as gift was a sign from Older bro for him to get out of their house. He is also involved is his death iirc. Topmc is polite but doesn't give him any chance.
Grandpa... feels very bad for older bro and is genuinely happy about Topmc being a good person and a good brother. He have a massive wealth compared to the current value of their family in a emergency safe that needs 2 codes to open, one he gave Older bro long ago and the other he gives him. He refuses to let 1stTop father to take him away as godson saying that he is their family and no one can touch him. Unfortunately he dies of old age. He leaves most things to Older bro, some to the father and a lot for Topmc too, including all his charity programs. A friend of his says he left his wealth to older bro and his reputation to Topmc.
His mother... is a bish that doesn't appears much. He tried to kill ogTopmc once when he was young and before she got together with the father because she thought of him as a burden and the reason of his phobia of cameras. After marrying she just wants him to behave and not get in the way. Father calls Topmc and interacts with him waaay more than her. When gramps dies she asks Father if he isn't mad he left more things to his stepson than for him (kinda implied that she'd be ok if he took it from him). He got real mad tho, slapped her across the face calling her a greedy bish, saying that what he have is more than enough to give her a luxurious life and that he will never fight his sons over money. That she could leave if she wanted but that Topmc is and will always be his son. Her only redeeming point is that she refused to cooperate with other Tops to harm Topmc.
BottomMc family:
His brother lives overseas on purpose because he reminds Bmc of his sister a lot and it triggers him. He used to be an Omega but changed genders to Beta in his pre-teens. He is a genius and comes back after mcs get together to meet his brother's boyfriend.
His sister. She is the reason he goes undercover to rich people's parties. She married a rich man that keeps her away. Or so he thinks. In truth he is already dead. His Alpha aunt/uncle (not sure) tried to grape him when he was young and he ran away. But his sister went to that house looking for him and almost got graped too. When she ran away she got ran over by a car and died.
He culpes himself a lot because of it and got badly traumatized because of it... to the point he forgot about her death and believes that lie about her marriage.
Lastly... what we could call the villain. The 1st tops father. Let's call him daddy to not mix with Topmc father (and cuz he deserves it, ahem). So. Daddy could be considered a hidden boss level. He is that powerful. He actually doesn't really care much about anything and is just doing business and living his life. He only cares about a couple people. His, in his words, stupid son. Topmc, whom he treats as a nephew and grew to like even more after he changed (from of to current mc). And Bottom mc, but he doesn't really care about him, he just keeps him under surveillance and wants a sample of his pheromone because he is too strong and could be helpful in studying ABO and advance things like pheromone blockers and rut/heat medicine. If he didn't keep him in check the government would.
Theres 2 reasons he could be taken as the villain. 1 he is the support of the 5ogTops. They only managed to do all that and get away with it because of him. The 2 is more complicated.
Mc is seen as a bug by that world. He should be dead. And he stopped the deaths of the rest of the family and the raise of 3dr top as head of the family. So the world is aiming at him but can't do it directly and Topmc notices and it fails miserably. So it binds himself to daddy to try to get stronger and get rid of him.
So... daddy knows theres an outsider messing things up and he needs to clean the mess for the world (fate, world, will of the world, gaia, tiandao, way of the heaven, whatever you call it). But he doesn't know who is it. So he sacrifices his palate in exchange of imprisoning that soul and substituting it with a perfect copy of it created by this world and accepted by it. But the catch is that no one can notice or the imprisioned soul would get the chance to escape. 1st time it happens BottomMc noticed right away and TopMc got back. Then he noticed the bug was someone he cared about and got torn because of it. TopMc also noticed he was involved in the fight between him and the world and they made a deal. He'd be impresioned 2 more times each longer and harder to escape. If he managed it it would be his loss and he'd stop to try to get rid of him (mc wanted to protect his family and Bmc from their og fate that would happen if he disappeared). The second time was longer and Bmc refused the fakes advances and kept his distance. This time the brother was the one that noticed and Tmc got back. And daddy got backlash because of it. The 3rd time was even longer and the fake was growing desperate because Bmc didn't accept him nor his brother and he messed up wich made 2 others notice it, redhead who was in love with Tmc and got weirded out by how nice fake was acting towards him (it was actually funny) and his assistant that he fired in a fit of rage very uncharacteristically from Tmc. The last point for him to come back was he being truly attached to that world instead of wanting to go home. That was him falling for mc and not just caring about him and loving his family and not just accepting them. In the end he came back and the backlash almost killed daddy. He only survived cuz he gave up the power of the world and helped a new "will of the world" to be formed. His weakening became motivation for the 1st top to be better and care for him and he became an even better person (and got attracted "brotherly" to older brother).
About the romance perse... it's a slowburn. BottomMc falls first and uses Topmc caring personality to his favor. He is both glad and mad that he's resistant to his charms and pheromone. But his cycle is very unstable and becomes more frequent because he fell in love. Topmc helps him marking him provisionally (just biting) when he's in heat because BottomMc suffers a lot of pain resisting the heat and was overdosing in heat blockers. They find out theres 6 people with more than 95% compatibility with bottom mc. The 5 tops and one person that chose to not go. They meet through a one way mirror and the omega is the one that decides to really meet or not. Bmc obviously rejected them for obvious reasons. When topmc whent to finish the paperwork (he accompanied him as a good friend) he found out he was the 6th one who refused to go (they don't reveal the identities and he found by accident). Then he changes his mind and decides to go. Bmc was almost having a panic attack and wanted to leave but a worker convinced him to check the 6th one that had just changed his mind. He saw the Topmc coming on the other side of the mirror and accepted it in a flash. After that he begins to actively seduce Topmc, even after he notices he's only into females and doing things out of consideration for him. Their 1st time he was drunk, in heat and used it as an opportunity. By then Top mc already had feelings for him and was working things out in his head to accept that bottom is what's equivalent to an opposite gender and he is actually ok with it. So I can't say it was totally consensual but also not grape forced by pheromones like usually in ABOs. Bottom actually gets pretty sad and depressed after it saying he was lied to. Why once? Why just 8 hours? What about those stories of 8 times in a row for 3 days and not being able to walk afterwards??? LOL. He was there questioning his existence and poor Topmc just wanted to be considerate because it was his 1st time and all... the second was after they confirm each other's feelings but there's still Topmc fake to be dealt with besides tome of the ogTops. The novel ends with their marriage and in the extras we get top unleashing the beast like bottom wanted and some others tids and bits about the others characters.

I said it was gonna be long... and still not detailed enough... it's a good read and I like especially the slow progress of Topmc accepting things and his feelings and how their relationship evolves and how he helps with bottomMc problems and the psychological ones too. Like love doesn't cure it but the care of a loved one helps. It became one of my favorites and I do recomend it.
