I think it's a learned behaver from his dad. His mother when she was arguing with his dad sayd something about being alone now not having family or friends anymore. So yeh kinda makes sense

Kid ver ML said he would make his partner unable to walk or just chain them up instead of his dad just locking up the mom. So, from that, I am guessing ML doesn't think keeping someone against their will is wrong. I can only hope it is proven wrong later but it seems unlikely and that he is very much like his dad.
there’s no reason to harm ppl close to sooyoung.. how does he not even realize that type of action is actually doing harm to someone he claims to love. it’s horrible
