What I'm curious about is, who was that who ordered the First Emperor to assassinate the witches? Was it truly the deity? Was it another witch who was jealous of Anita? Or the Emperor was just under his own delusion? The third possible reason is quite hard to believe because he was in love with her. He did say that in his POV. Was he blinded by power? I don't think so, he did that for her. He was sincere to give everything for her. I really wanna know more about them.

Second, looks like the long blue haired dude, the ex fiance really loves Anita? I won't be surprised if he is a reincarnation of the first emperor.

Third, I want this to have a happy ending for both sides. I just hope Anita could find her peace.

there's a possibility that anita will get a good ending but, she would most likely die because her heart is broken and she's dying.

See, I don't think he WAS sincere. I think he used his love as an excuse to be greedy. "I love you, but I would love you even more if I had power"? That's really silly. That's not real logic. She was satisfied when he was just a simple woodcutter, she didn't demand he show his love through wealth and power

A great hint is also that he went to see her less and less the more powerful he became. Hello? Sincerity who?

He became obsessed and because of what the diety fed his mind after becoming emperor, he thought if he didnt kill the witches, they'd take Anita from him through their magic.. he locked her up to keep her away from them. He became twisted and he did all he did out of his blind faith with what the diety told him.. which then led to their tragic love story. But yea.. just like what the princess said.. his twisted love and obsession for Anita cant justify the massacre he did. He had a choice, and maybe because he was originally a lumberjack with not much education growing up.. he was easily manipulated.. but he still had a choice.. and he chose to not consider Anita's feelings after all his actions.. he was doing only what HE thought was right for them, he didnt consider what SHE would feel afterwards
