in one of the chapters atali said they were lovers. situation prolly made them split. seth's mother kinda moved on but atali didn't i guess. hope author clarifies this
Afaik seth's mother loved Atali. She loved Atali so much she let go of her because of her duty. And because she still has lots of love to give, she was able to love Seth's father as well.

Seth's mother and Atali, were they best friends or were they lovers. Atali says she never loved Theo's father, it was just her duty to have a kid. But Seth's mother seems to have loved her husband. I wonder if it was a poly romantic situation...
