Actually from what I understand, she's not actually biologically related to them at all and it was all just a lie so that she would have a guaranteed home even after it was all over. Cause several times, she makes mention of the fact that she's 13 but that wouldn't make any sense at all if she was Rufus' twin, considering he's 13. So in fact, she actually is just a commoner orphan that happens to look like him.
If this is it true, then the writing really messed up.
They could have just offer her to adopt her.
I think to remember, she herself isn't even sure how old she really is.

That MC Ruzée forgives so easily her bioligical parents for sending her away just because of a very stupid superstition about twins and for keeping the truth that she is their daughter for years......
