Basically yea the way I see it they acknowledge him as a future savior since the world is descending into chaos and since the priest got to know him they also believe that his faith is the way that he is. A solemn star falling rapidly from the heavens to grant peace

Yes most likely because his master, the little pale duke would want said connections in the battle of succession. Right now the MC is ina kind of blind faith mode and just goes along with the flow but then he has to decide who to follow, his will, his master, the church or revenge for killing his father figure
Not necessarily. There are different nuances to the story so far. MC was a nobody. No parents, no family, and no real identity that would elevate him in life. It was thanks to the priest that he became Vlad of Soara. Thanks to that, he has a home, a name attached to said home, and more opportunities he can experience because of it. That doesn't mean he's attached to the church. It just shows someone of reputable position in the church aknowledged his identity. And identity truly is important in this world.
