I get what you are saying. But I think this chapter shows that Cain is now moving on. He wanted to know if Jooin was happy -- he got his answer through the easter egg in the app. So when he told his people to deactivate the easter egg, that was Cain getting his answer and now -- hopefully -- he can go live his own life. But I do agree that it isn't fair to Cain to have him mooning over Jooin at this point. I guess the author just wanted us to see the moment Cain let go of him.
I can't understand why there's so much hold of jooin in cain's life altogether if the author is trying to show him trying to be happy and moved on.
