I think the original/1st life of the shaman from the beginning (king's assistant) tricks the current reincarnation (shaman) to do some ritual to summon the king from the underworld. So that they still can be together no matter what happened. He dragged the king with him to "somewhere". Shaman though it's the king who keep giving hint/possessed him, but it's not as the king get mad at the shaman for summoning him. The shaman said "it wasn't you?"

Can someone explain the ending to me? What happened to them? Why did the bell jingle? Did they both disappear? Or went to underworld? QwQ please explain
