I don’t think they read far enough to see that she frees him from slavery and makes him her ward (ie. Someone a noble family invests in the future of and raises to succeed - not a slave).
I do agree with some of the criticism though.
1. Doesn’t think much abt the slavery system after she saves him (that I recall)
Girlie legit bought a slave and just left. And as far as we know hasn’t even thought of the slavery system since she got him yeah she did good and freed him, and yeah she probably wouldn’t be able to do anything abt the entrenched system of slavery (BUT she does seem to be a VERY powerful noble who was due to be married to the crown prince... so if she can’t who can lol), but the fact that she just sort of moved on from it and doesn’t think of it again in any panels (that I recall) is a bit of a side eye moment.
2. Intentions r to prevent the massacre of nobility more than being horrified at the system of slavery
She’s doing him a lot of good and saving him from further abuse, though dare I say her intentions aren’t exactly the best. It seems to be more “I need to prevent the massacre of the nobility and me, so I’ll find the ml and make sure he doesn’t go through this and do that” than “wow this is fucking horrendous I can’t believe slavery is happening like this, these ppl all deserve to be freed”.
3. She participated and enabled it with her payment (she didn’t break him out)
And there is the part that she basically invested 100bn (or whatever she paid for him) into the slavery system, which then will go into thousands of others being enslaved and sold. She didn’t break him out or anything (not that she could have easily, but the point stands), she participated in the system.
TLDR? Now that plotline is over she basically seems to forget abt it - out of sight out of mind? She cares abt her survival and the survival of the nobility (who enable the system of slavery) against the ogvillain (ml) which is why she went ahead and rescued him, but she isn’t thinking abt the lives of those left in slavery? It feels unusual for a transmigrator who should know the horrors of slavery from the modern world to NOT think abt it a lot. Idk. Maybe I’m misunderstanding bc I didn’t scrutinise or memorise the panels or anything to double check this.
Maybe novel readers can spoil us on if she ever does anything abt it, but I would guess she doesn’t.
Guys, the point of her buying the ML is to save him from being more abused and turning into a villain How is her treating him with respect and caring about his well-being abuse?? So far I like the concept and I like both FL and ML but we'll see <33
