Holy shit??? Man I should've seen it coming tbh. The worldbuilding is very good in this one. First i thought this was just set in a distant past with a fantasy setting but turns out thats not the case? Its present time and we're learning from the side that's left in the dark. Its also very interesting and intriguing to me how this story drops its major plot points with some much casualness, like its no biggie! They give us small conversations and pov's that dont make sense at the beginning but only fit into the puzzle once more is revealed, like dangling the answer right in front of our nose. Its really good! Usually a plot twist just gets dropped when it seems fitting but here, we're getting information spoonfed little by little until we can make out the story by ourselves. Imo that has an even biggier effect than just dropping a plot twist out of nowhere. Wish more stories were like this!
