I might be wrong but nee-chan is like next and nii-chan is like neat (i is pronounced as letter e like when you say the alphabet)

Nee-chan is like a horse's neigh: neigh-chan, and Cyx is right about nii-chan being like neat, it's like knee-chan

(The syllables are o-ne-e and o-ni-i. When you say it normally, without pause, the ending vowels sound like one vowel spoken for longer. So onii sounds slightly different from oni.)
