I saw a reel on insta some time ago. The Robot was like killed(?) but more like his hardware and all were damaged.
The other guy (the human) grew older. Almost looking like the evil guy from that yaoi pearl story. But he was smiling and well. He still loves the robot at that point and there was a scene where he kissed the head.
But I don't think they will have a complete happy ending. If they even have one at all.

Oh shit, that's not a good sign for me
as far as i know, the gray hair man is not ml and the head you see in the reel is the real body who was used as a prototype for the robots (all/most of the robots looks like that guy) so yeah, he's not ml more like a high commander or something like that
