I can understand that. It does add another layer of depth to the story that some people did not originally sign up for. Though I personally don't think it spoils the storyline, it's just different from what I was expecting initially.
Idk the plot feels random after the “modern world” appeared, i really loved the ghibli style fantasy story it was at the beginning but then got political and realistic
