I kind of did not understand Jo's perspective, when Ian said that he was a good person and Jo said that he's not a good person....now they wanna go after Ian to get Tj, they're literally playing with fire and they wanna be burnt so badlyyy

During his conversation with Ian, Jo realized that Ian was still in love with TJ. However Ian himself is unaware of it. Now to speak of how important TJ is to him, Ian referred to TJ as his family. He also told Jo that TJ basically walked away from him and he can’t find him.

So when Jo told Ian to respect TJ’s desire to keep him safe, it wasn’t because he was being a nice guy. It’s because he’s hoping that by keeping Ian from looking for TJ, he’ll keep them apart, which will give him a better chance with Ian.

Not necessarily,,,it’s also because Ian views himself as a coward. Jo’s try a tell him that if the roles were reversed, he would’ve done the same thing for TJ without calling him a coward, so to respect the decision TJ’s made

That’s not what Jo meant, though… that’s why he made that inward comment about the fact that he didn’t have the purest intentions when he said that

Two things can be true at once. He didn’t have to make that comment, but he did because it’s the truth of the matter. In fact, he could’ve kept it to himself cuz it puts TJ in a good light, the fact that he’s doing this for Ian. He could’ve instead said that if TJ cut contact after all these years then he might be done with him or smth like that.
But that’s also why he denies being kind, because he’s having all these possessive thoughts about Ian and his family. He’s not saying all this to be the good guy in the situation cuz he’d feel guilty having Ian believe that. If he truly wanted to manipulate the situation, he would’ve just accepted the compliment.

That’s a detailed and accurate assessment.

Little rectification though, he did take the compliment. However to me that doesn’t mean Jo is bad. It just means he can be selfish with his desires.

I don’t think calling himself naive was fully accepting the compliment, more like him saying he’s an outsider to everything so maybe that’s why he lacks judgment and can easily say these things. But true he didn’t fully shoot it down
